Events are happening and restaurants are open. It is very nice at The Beach, there is great wildlife viewing in the wetlands and at The Beach. Now is a great time for bike riding and hiking on our quiet streets and trails.

Please consider donating to relief for Western NC and the other areas devastated by the catastrophic flooding from Hurricane Helene. It will take a very long time to recover from the heavy damage.

What We Offer:

  • We have 120 miles of beach on The Outer Banks. Half of that is undeveloped within The Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The Outer Banks is best known for its varied outdoor attractions and activities. Beach access and parking is plentiful and free here.

  • The Porch: Relax on the  waterfront porch which is accessible from your room. Our guest rooms sleep two adults in a Queen size Tempurpedic bed. There is also complimentary high speed WiFi throughout the inn.
  • Although pets cannot stay at the inn there are some very good local boarding options close by that allow you to spend the day with your pet. We can supply you with their contact information.

  • The Elizabethan Gardens, The Corolla Heritage Park includes the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and the 1925 Whale Head Club. and Audubon Sanctuary.
  • The Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve is adjacent to The Inn.
  • The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama plays during the Summer months.

  • Availability calendars on other travel sites do not reflect our full availability.
  • . There is a two night minimum for stays that include a Saturday or Sunday.
  • There are three First Order Light Houses here. These Architectural masterpieces date from the 1870s and are still functioning. You can climb them March thru November. There is a great deal of history on the Outer Banks.
  • The fishing is legendary. The surf fishing is the best on the East Coast. There are a large variety of other recreational activities both on water and land. There are some very nice golf courses which are uncrowded and affordable in the off season which is generally the best weather for golf.
  • There are many very good restaurants. That serve fresh local Seafood.
  • There is every kind of shopping for all of your wants and needs.
  • The famous Corolla Wild Horses herd is here.
  • The Wright Brothers National Memorial is here as well.
  • This is the site where the four year effort by the Wright Brothers culminated in the first Powered Airplane Flight.

Our Location & Surroundings:

  • The interaction zone between the Maritime Forest, Wetlands and the Sound are home to many birds from the smallest Songbirds and Hummingbirds to  Raptors, Herons, Great Egrets as well as Terns and Gulls 
  • The Inn overlooks the broad waters of The Albemarle Sound here in Kitty Hawk. All of our guests have a waterfront view from their room. The Inn was built by the owner’s Greg and Linda Hamby for the purpose.
  • A continental breakfast is included.
  • There is a pier going to the sound with seating over the water.

Inn Amenities:

  • The Inn is entirely non-smoking inside and on the grounds. Thank you for your cooperation. All of our 3 guest rooms have a private bath. We furnish to you a continental breakfast. The breakfast will have a variety of pastries and fruit with coffee and tea.
  • Within two miles or less you will find the beach, restaurants, golf courses, shopping and recreational facilities.
  • Your innkeepers, Greg and Linda Hamby are residents of the area for over 47 years.
  • The Inn is located in a safe and quiet residential area with no immediate neighbors.
  • The Inn is not suitable for young children and is a non-smoking facility.
  • We do ask that our guests please not bring firearms into our home. Please leave them in your vehicle.  Thank you for your cooperation in this.
